Assignment 2
Personal:
Connie and Fish Podcast-Morning radio show on 97.3 The Brew. I enjoy this morning show but don’t often hear it because I am teaching! With this podcast I can go back and only listen to the parts I want to!

Educational: Students were not able to hear this podcast due to lack of time left in the school year.
Author Podcast - Interviews with some of our favorite children’s authors such as Avi, Marc Brown, R.L. Stine and Jack Prelutsky. The authors share why and how they became authors. I think this would be a wonderful motivation tool for students. Whenever we have authors come into our school the students are very excited to write. I think this could be a way for students to “meet” the author and get excited about writing.

Assignment 4:
Teacher Podcast: I am going to have students create book talks so I created an example one for them to hear. I want them to notice fluency, tone and the content that is given.

Student Podcast: I used the podcast to create a resource for my future students to use. Each year students have a state project and they must write a speech about their state. I had my students read their speeches so next years class can hear how the speech should sound.

Assignment 5:
Using the iPod
I use my iPod daily for personal uses. I enjoy the convenience of having the internet at my fingertips. I have used my iPod as a GPS system, found recipes to cook and I even used it on my honeymoon to exchange dollars into pesos! I have had an iPod since the first generation came out so I have always used it for music but now I am able to do so much more. I have fun looking for new apps that I can use on a daily basis.
In the classroom I see myself using the iPod more and more. I love the student’s faces when they see the iPod and realize they really get to use it! I plan to have my iPod as an extra activity after their class work is complete. I will have educational apps available for the students to use and get extra practice of their basic facts. I will have to figure out how to manage this as I do not want students to rush through their work to get to the iPod. If I had a classroom set I would be able to set up more activities for the students but at this time I only have one. I look forward to bringing my iPod into the classroom more.
